What is MCP and why does it matter for my store?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI assistants call external tools. Pareto's MCP server exposes your discount engine as callable tools, so Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini can read your store data and take real actions, just like a team member would.
Which AI assistants does Pareto MCP support?
Claude (native MCP support), ChatGPT (via tool calls), Gemini (via MCP bridge), and Cursor. Any MCP-compatible client will work. We provide tested config snippets for each platform so setup takes under 5 minutes.
Can my AI accidentally break my store?
No. MCP actions are scoped to Pareto's discount engine only. The AI cannot touch orders, customers, or Shopify settings outside of what Pareto controls. Every action is logged and reversible. Revoke the token instantly from your Pareto dashboard.
Do I need to already use Pareto to get access?
Yes. Pareto MCP is an add-on to the Pareto app. Install app first (free trial available), then register for MCP access. Total setup is under 10 minutes from zero to first AI chat.
What happens after the 100 early access spots fill?
